I have worked on a range of design projects for print, web and digital. With over 10 years industry experience, I have worked in both creative video production agencies and in-house tech environments. This has provided me with insight and experience from taking a project from the initial brief throught to presenting ideas and final designs to key stakeholders, and delivering the project. I have strong creative and technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for beautiful typography, snowboarding and chocolate.
Before starting any design project, I love to start off with pen and paper. I like to break down the brief, research, word map and just sketch out all the initial ideas that start coming to mind. I also love collaborating with a great team of creative people from all discplinaries; everyone has different ideas to bring to the table, and in a brainstorm session really great ideas can happen.
When designing, I always keep the end product and delivery platforms in mind, so I also like to discuss the ideas I have with the people who will be using my designs, such as developers, motion designers, editors and printers. This ensures that I’ve set up the creative correctly and in a format that they can work with, you can certainly learn new techniques from them as well.
An organised filing system is very important to me. It makes it far more efficient for any changes down the line, or for when you’re handing the project off to someone else on the team. So I always make sure my project folders are organized and layers are labeled and grouped appropriately. And because of this, Command + Left Click/Select, in Photoshop, is an absolute lifesaver, and by far my favourite shortcut.
